It was our pleasure to photograph Doug and Cailan’s beautiful wedding in the midst of what has been a beautiful spring. They’re an easy going couple with a great sense of humor—and Cailan was a beautiful bride—so our job was easy and enjoyable. The biggest bit of contention throughout the day was a verbal showdown between Nebraska and Kansas fans during the toasts. I kept quiet about our Cyclones of Iowa State. It sure is lonely down here. . .
Their ceremony was at Cailan’s family’s home church, St. Ann’s in Prairie Village, which was one of my favorite churches to shoot in because of the space on all four sides of the altar. Space in the background = creamier images = yum, creaminess. We took some great city shots in the time between, and the variety of great locations came together nicely into a beautiful album that I’m very proud of. Again, yum! The reception was at the Vox Theater, which was a great space, and one that seemed to fit their wedding perfectly. It was an awesome party, and one that I noticed the guests hanging around a lot longer than usual! The night culminated in a passionate sing-along to Celine Dion’s “It’s All Coming Back To Me” (the 6 minute version), which I guess has a strong significance to Cailan and her DZ sisters. . . Don’t ask me!
Okay, enough words. Check out the fun stuff!
