John and Lauren were married the weekend after Christmas on a chilly, but bright and sunny December day. They had their ceremony at the Liberty United Methodist Church where Lauren’s family has grown up, so that was surely meaningful for them. Additionally, being from a family of gifted singers and musicians, Lauren’s dad and sister both sang during the ceremony! The reception was at the William Jewell student union, which was actually a really convenient space for everything. Dance downstairs, formal seating and conversation upstairs. I was really looking forward to their wedding because they were such troopers for their cold weather engagement session and they get such a kick out of each other. They’re so laid back and happy-go-lucky that it just makes things a breeze. The wedding day was no different. We didn’t have a ton of time to roam around Kansas City this time, and we had to shoot the majority of the photos inside, but window light can be sooooo beautiful if the environment lends itself. I’m pleased with what we were able to come up with, and again, how great do Lauren and John look together??
