James and Kristy had a beautiful, laid back wedding in Lawrence a few weeks back that was just a treat to shoot. Lots of great details and a beautifully designed space for the ceremony and reception were like photo candy. All of the wedding festivities were held at Maceli’s right downtown in Lawrence and Kim Ho of You’re Invited helped James and Kristy deck the space out in fantastic fashion. Red is often seen as such a traditional color, but these guys put a really modern twist on things by adding “bling” to the palette. It worked really well and created a dramatic backdrop for the evening’s events. James and Kristy are huge Jayhawk fans, so there was certainly plenty of KU pieces worked into the day, from shooting on campus, to KU cookie favors, to a rock chalk entrance. Makeup was done by Jolie Artistry and hair was done by Brook Hixson.
