Shawn and Kaylie had quite an interesting journey to their final wedding day. I think they even wondered whether or not it would even happen. New management at the wedding venue in Kansas City’s northland they were signed up with actually booked another event over top of their wedding. After that, everything spiraled out of control until—finally—they were able to sneak into Club 1000 when one of their events was cancelled. So, they ended up with a sweet penthouse venue in downtown Kansas City for both the ceremony and reception, and ultimately everything worked out beautifully. Their wedding day was a miserable day weather-wise (cold and rainy) as Kaylie was getting ready at the President Hotel. At around 2:00 or so though, the clouds cleared and the sun broke through for the rest of the day. And the sunset that we got to photograph over downtown was legendary. I guess that though it was a really bumpy road to the wedding day, Shawn and Kaylie were in many ways blessed with even better circumstances than they were originally hoping for. At least that was my perception as a close insider. 🙂
