Travis and Angie were married on a beautiful fall day that was just perfect for an outdoor wedding in Shawnee Mission Park. Talk about a dream ceremony location to be able to photograph! Having just shot a wedding recently where there had to be about 50 yards of distance between us and the couple during the ceremony, it was a refreshing change to have the opportunity to get creative and shoot the details from all angles. Of course, being that the ceremony was out in Shawnee Mission Park, that made it all the more convenient for us to do photos out there beforehand as well. I could shoot out there all day. Every day. Again, can I just reiterate my affinity for the way tall prairie grass photographs? There is nothing like its abstract wispiness and golden color. Along with Kara and I for the first time was our friend Kayla who will be taking over second shooter duties for a little while as Kara is on “maternity leave”. Kayla has a really creative eye, especially for capturing details, so I’m excited to work with her for the next couple of events. A couple photos below are courtesy of her camera. After the ceremony and some killer photos with the Travis and Angie, we headed to their reception at The Pavilion in Shawnee. Food, fun, family and friends were enjoyed by all. Travis and Angie, thanks again for having us along as part of your big day!
