As a photographer that primarily shoots outside, one could understand that I’m overly obsessed with weekly forecasts and knowing exactly what is expected for the days ahead. Chris and Rachel’s wedding was characterized by an 80% chance of rain all week leading up to the wedding, and it basically didn’t change. Until the wedding day. Fortunately this weeklong chance of rain didn’t pan out, so we were able to proceed as planned with what we had laid out prior to the day. The bride and groom, along with their giant wedding party (9 on each side) got ready at the Intercontinental on the Plaza and we did some quick photos in and around the hotel before the ceremony. Chris is Catholic and Rachel is Jewish, so they formulated a hybrid ceremony of sorts with traditions from each and had the celebration at the Unity Temple on the Plaza. We stopped at Kaufmann Gardens for a few bride and groom photos after the wedding and then headed nearby to the Grand Street Cafe for the reception. Steve Serrano was the DJ for the evening and provided the crowd with some great beats to dance to all night. The toasts were great, and so was the food, and there was even a chocolate fountain! Chris and Rachel, thank you guys for choosing us to spend the day with you. We hope you love the photos!
