We shot Isaac and Heather’s wedding at The Guild in the Crossroads of Kansas City in May, and I’m really pleased with the way their story comes to life in these pictures! We really enjoyed the urban space of The Guild and its artistic attention to detail. It was a lovely backdrop for the day that represented Isaac and Heather’s love for each other. Isaac is also a stud and serves our country in the Air Force. They set up a surprise ceremony during dinner where Isaac was sworn into the Air Force by his sister.
More and more, we are trying to push our photos to become individual works of art through composition, lighting, color, etc, and we’re getting there. But photos as visual art pieces are just pretty to look at (which is awesome), so we want to take our work beyond that. With every wedding that we photograph, we try to use both the art of visual aesthetics and the art of capturing meaningful moments and emotion naturally to create a visual story that won’t let your eyes or your heart go.
