Bubba and Kirsten had their wedding ceremony and reception at the Hotel Kirkwood in Cedar Rapids that we had the pleasure of being the photographers for. Kirsten was in a nasty car accident a couple weeks before the wedding and ended up with a broken collarbone, so I think that kind of put the day into perspective for everyone. There were some tears and lots of laughter shared throughout the wedding day of these two middle school sweethearts. Yes—middle school. Their passionate, young love was revealed to everyone when Kirsten’s sister pulled out her diary dated 2005 and read page after page about how she was going to marry Bubba. But Bubba didn’t escape the roasting either, as Kirsten had saved his 8th grade love note in her diary. Naturally, that was read to all the guests as well, much to their amusement.
It was a lovely day for mid-July (we’re talking mid-70s, yo) and the sky helped us out by adding a lot of visual interest to the photos with its big, puffy clouds. Shout out to the big, puffy clouds.
Additionally, the ring-bearer was a total heart throb. He was of course, our son.
