What can I say about Jake and Katy’s wedding? I feel like these photos will speak for themselves, but I’ll give a little background. The wedding ceremony and reception were both at Barn on the Ridge, a southeast Iowa venue that we have been fortunate to shoot several times. The space is great, Jennifer and the staff provide excellent, attentive service to their guests, and the property offers a nice variety of wow photo opportunities (see below). Though this was a beautiful and aesthetically rich day to shoot, the story of Jake and Katy as people stole the show, as it well should. I can’t tell you the number of times that people spoke highly of this couple, their character, and their hearts turned toward others. To me, that made the day more beautiful and memorable than any piece of decor or sunset photo. Those things are sure pretty to look at though. 🙂 And as if that all wasn’t enough, to finish the wedding day (or night), they had a full-on fireworks show that was on par with a 4th of July celebration. It was UH-MAZING (again, see below). Jake and Katy, it was such a privilege to shoot for you guys and to have the opportunity to create these photos that will help you always remember just how lovely your day was.
