Brad and Nikki had their wedding ceremony and reception at Eighteen Ninety in Platte City, which is just north of Kansas City. It’s quite an interesting contrast of structures they have up there. The country house was built in 1890 (hence the name), and it is beautifully decorated. It has lots of large windows that let a ton of light pour in, so there really wasn’t hardly a need to have any of the overhead light fixtures turned on (major bonus for me). It was an amazing space for Nikki and the girls to get ready in, and it was easy for us to be creative in there! The reception hall was just built last year, and it features lots of the modern amenities you would expect in a building that was specifically built to host weddings and events. So 1890 has a nice mix of modern amenities and old character and details. The ceremony was outside in the wind, which was not especially kind. It was also rather cool and the sun made only a couple brief appearances throughout the day. We were planning sunset photos at the end of the evening, but they turned out to be really cool cloudy sky photos, which I’m just as good with! Brad and Nikki, thank you for having us document your big day! May you be blessed with a lifetime of love and happiness together.
