Mark and Ashley’s wedding was on a smoking hot Saturday in Des Moines. Their wedding was at the Green Meadows West Gazebo in Johnston, and their reception was at the Iowa Veterans Reception Center in Van Meter.
Mark and Ashley’s love story that culminated in marriage, is perhaps the most interesting of any that we have had the privilege of documenting. Mark is from the UK, and Ashley is from Des Moines. What brings these two together? Not a chance in-person meeting, of course. No—the iPhone app Game of War, of course. It’s like Tinder for gamers, I guess. Mark and Ashley end up in the same clan, start messaging back and forth, Mark makes a trip to the US to meet Ashley, and before you know it, these photos happen. These two love each other as much as any couple I have photographed, and hopefully that comes through in the photos. I could sense the joy and the relief of finally being to this day, after all of the hoops that they had to jump through to make it happen. Mark and Ashley, thank you guys for being wonderful and for having us be a part of your celebration. May you guys enjoy a lifetime of love together (in the US, or wherever)!
