We visited Kansas City this week for Tim and Kelsea’s wedding at the Kemper Museum of Art. This was our first rodeo at the Kemper, and it did not disappoint. The asymmetrical architecture, clean lines and modern artwork were a lovely backdrop for both the wedding ceremony and the reception! We started the day getting ready at the InterContinental on the Plaza, where everyone’s favorite hair/makeup artist Mandy McKenna was assisting the ladies with their beauty. After a first look at the InterContinental, we joined the rest of Kansas City’s wedding parties (probably 7-8 of them) at the Nelson Art Museum for the majority of the wedding party photos. Though it didn’t really rain on the bride and groom, water threatened quite a bit throughout the day, starting with the sprinklers going off in the middle of the day at the Nelson! After a few squeals, we quickly vacated the area, certainly much to the delight of whoever was watching the security cameras. After we safely arrived back at the Kemper, there sporadic periods of rain that fell the rest of the evening, culminating in a thunderstorm for the ages later that night. Tim and Kelsea, thank you guys for your gracious hospitality as we documented your sophisticated and relaxed black (bow) tie affair! We appreciate you guys having us, and we wish you a lifetime of wedded bliss together!
