Continuing on with the theme of this epically cold January that we have endured, let’s relive the awesome wedding day of Chris and Cat from this past weekend. Temperatures barely escalated over 0 on their wedding day, but these guys were so blessed they couldn’t have cared less. We started the day at Fix Salon, just west of downtown Cedar Rapids, where the girls drank champagne, ate breakfast casserole and got their beauty fix. Their ceremony was at Immaculate Conception in Cedar Rapids, and Chris’ brother performed the ceremony, which added even more sentiment to the day. From there, this crazy bride convinced US to go outside in the arctic temperatures. I was planning to shoot the entire day indoors, but we stuck to our original (now greatly abbreviated) plan and got those outdoor natural light photos! Major props to this wedding party for loving your bride and groom so much to make these photos happen! I think our three 5 minute escapades were more than worth it. Once we felt on the verge of frost bite for the last time, we loaded up into a nice, warm limo and traveled south to Iowa City, for their beautiful reception awaiting them at Hotel Vetro. Everything was very well done—the cake, the food, the decor and most of all, the St Louis Big Band that kept the party going all night. Chris and Cat, I know you guys said over and over that this was the best day of your lives, and we appreciate you guys having us be a part of it. Hopefully these photos will help you relive the moments for years and years to come. We’ve got plenty more where these came from!
