Tim and Megan had a unique vision for their wedding day, and you could really see their personality shine through in the details. They worked closely with Emily at Soirée Wedding and Event Planning to make their vision come beautifully to life. Their ceremony was at at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Iowa City, but we started the day getting ready and shooting details at the location of their reception. The wedding reception was at Rapid Creek Cidery, and it was a place that left us blown away! Rapid Creek Cidery is a new venue and restaurant, just outside of Iowa City. It is a development of Wilson’s Apple Orchard, and it is going to do well. How could it not, with an amazing menu, attentive staff and a new all-in-one event facility that was beautifully built using reclaimed barn wood? Just watch.
Now . . . I think it’s safe for me to say that Tim and Megan are not party animals, and so they built a wedding reception at Rapid Creek to better suit their personalities. They brought in some casual living furniture, bought dozens of board games and encouraged people to sit down together, rather than hit the dance floor (though there was still some dancing that ensued). And while the concept of their reception was smart and well received, the way that it was done was also beautiful, thanks to some bright, punchy flowers and table decor from Racehorse Royalty. I loved how the vibrant floral worked to complement the space and the reclaimed barn wood. Everything was very well done.
Tim and Megan, thank you guys for choosing to have us be a part of your big day! We wish you guys all the best in your future board game escapades . . . and of course, your new married life together!
