Robb and Molly are two of the easiest going people you’ll meet, and they are wonderfully hospitable. They were so genuinely appreciative of everyone that came to celebrate with them during their wedding day, taking time to make sure that they could greet and thank each person in attendance. I mean, Robb even thanked us for being there before we had even given the camera its first click! Their wedding ceremony was outside in the beautiful Greene Square park, right in the midst of downtown Cedar Rapids. As had been the typical weather forecast for us lately, all week, and even Saturday morning, we saw a 90% chance of rain, with an 80% chance right on the hour of their outdoor ceremony. Well, there were early morning thunderstorms, and all of the rain was through by 10:00 A.M., and it never redeveloped . . . during the day. At night, as Kara and I were leaving the reception under a Severe Thunderstorm Warning, now that was another story! The wedding reception was at one of our favorites—Eastbank Venue and Lounge, right on the banks of the Cedar River. One awesome thing about their reception was that they commissioned the band Sophistafunk to play for the evening. And they aren’t your typical wedding cover band—they played only their original music, and they rocked the place all night with their huge sound. Robb had connected with those guys in years past, after they randomly ended up crashing on his living room couch after a show one night. They repaid the favor in a big way, carving out time in the middle of their nationwide tour to play their wedding.
Check out the smiles, the laughter and the tears from their beautiful day. Robb promised to marry Molly “so hard right now” and we were delighted to be a part of it. Guys, we wish you all the best, and hope that you guys stay in love so hard for all your days!
