Dillon and Emily’s wedding day couldn’t escape some of the hotness we’ve seen this summer, but they were happy to battle the heat, versus the nasty thunderstorms that rolled in a couple hours into their reception! They had a very meaningful and musically inspired ceremony at King of Kings Lutheran Church in Cedar Rapids. Afterwards, their reception was at the Cedar Rapids Marriott. It was great to see so many of their family and friends surround them at each, as both spaces were packed! The day was a genuine celebration for all involved, as all weddings should be. It’s refreshing for us to shoot such meaningful days, because it gives us the opportunity to document those moments that are so important, and so filled with feeling. In weeks prior, Emily scouted out an open field to photograph some portraits in, which worked beautifully for us in between the ceremony and reception. It’s always fun when we get a few puffy clouds to work with as well!
Dillon and Emily, it’s clear that you guys have your priorities in the right place, and that you have a wonderful support system of family and friends to encourage you guys on your journey together. Thank you guys for having us be a part of the day! We wish you guys a lifetime of love and happiness together!
