Bug Soother. We’ll just start this one off with Bug Soother. Why do the gnats in eastern Iowa have to be soooo bad?? Honestly, I’m getting tired of editing them out of every single photo! But, let’s all give thanks for Bug Soother, which makes it actually possible to be outside this time of year. Once we got rid of those stupid Iowa gnats with LIBERAL Bug Soother applications, Jacob and Kensley’s wedding day turned out to be really beautiful, contrary to the week’s weather forecast. They had both their wedding ceremony and reception at Myers Tree Farm, and they were the first couple to experience the newly renovated space for their wedding. It’s a really beautiful property and there is a ton of character and texture in the barn. You’ll see—it’s definitely photogenic. More than the beauty of the surroundings though, were the emotions that we were privileged to witness and capture during the day—love, laughter and tears. When this great trifecta is readily available to us, it makes it easier for us to help people remember what the day felt like, not just what it looked like. I know good times were had by all, because it was clear to see. And I also saw the obnoxious amount of Busch Light cases that lined the wall behind the bar. Wowzers! Please tell me there cases still leftover after the reception, because that could have gotten uuuuuugly!
Jacob and Kensley, thank you for trusting us on your wedding day and giving us every opportunity to give you great wedding images. You guys were so patient and kind, and it was a pleasure to spend the day with you, your families and your friends. I’ll look forward to sharing the rest with you soon! Special shout out to my good buddy Ryan Towe for second shooting this wedding with me. My apologies for your physical soreness the three days following the wedding day!
