It was a great privilege to partner with an all-star team of vendors for this styled shoot at the new HarMac wedding venue in Cedar Rapids. I love telling a story with the photos that we capture, but sometimes it is refreshing to just shoot pretty stuff. Unique Events was the driving force behind this shoot, and when they get a chance to flex their creative muscles, the results are guaranteed to be stunning. This modern and lush plum concept was the perfect balance of bold and vibrant, while still maintaining warmth.
As for the venue, this was my first time inside the HarMac, and it is pretty awesome. It is a modern and industrial space with lots of natural light, and it is unlike anything in the eastern Iowa corridor. It is a great canvas for photos and I think it fits our photographic style as well as any venue in the area. It has everything you need in one place, which is a HUGE luxury. There are spacious getting ready areas for both the guys and girls. There is a designated ceremony space that could also double as a cocktail hour room. And then, of course, there is the expansive space for large guest receptions. My favorite weddings to shoot are the ones that take place all in one spot, because the stress and time drain of travel is eliminated. The HarMac makes that possible and checks all of those boxes with excellence.
